The Wall Street Journal reported Wells Fargo announced Timothy Sloan will leave his post as CFO to become head of the wholesale banking group, where he spent more than two decades earlier in his career.

According to the Journal , Sloan will succeed David Hoyt, who is retiring after 32 years, and John Shrewsberry, who runs Wells Fargo Securities, will become finance chief.

Sloan will continue to report to Chief Executive John Stumpf, and Shrewsberry also will report to Stumpf, the Journal added.
