The Wall Street Journal reported that Furniture Brands International may be in the middle of a “bidding war” due to the emergence of private equity firm KPS Capital Partners as an interested party.

The article noted that KPS, which focuses on turning around troubled manufacturers, made an offer that includes Furniture Brand’s Lane Furniture business — an asset that was not included in Oaktree Capital’s $166 million offer.
