Woodbridge Hires Olson to Focus on Private Equity Groups

Woodbridge Group LLC, (d/b/a Woodbridge International), has announced that David P. Olson has joined the firm as a managing director. Olson will focus on enhancing Woodbridge’s relationships with private equity groups, including expanding its sell-side advisory practice with private equity groups seeking to exit portfolio holdings. Olson has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry in direct investing, middle-market investment banking and operational roles.

“Over the years Woodbridge has generated tremendous deal flow to private equity groups,” said Robert M. Koenig, president of Woodbridge International. “Many have participated in our sell side process and appreciate the efficient, effective methodology we use to achieve our clients’ objectives.”

“We look forward to significantly expanding our world-class, sell-side advisory for private equity group portfolio companies,” said Koenig.

Olson began his career as an institutional investor at Aetna Life and Casualty where he joined Aetna’s in-house investment bank that later spun out of Aetna in 1991 as Ironwood Capital Ltd, a middle market investment banking firm where Olson was a co-founder. Ironwood later migrated into mezzanine and private equity investing in middle market firms beginning in 2001 where Olson was involved in raising capital for Ironwood’s first mezzanine fund. Olson’s investment banking career was centered on M&A and capital raising mandates in various forms.

Olson’s operating experience includes three years as COO at All Financial Group from 2006 to 2009 where he led efforts to form a strategic joint venture that resulted in $155 million in new capital for the firm.
