Alex Wilmot-Sitwell and Matthew Smith will join Perella Weinberg Partners as partners in the Advisory business in September and August 2018, respectively. Additionally, PWP named Michael Hatchard senior advisor to the firm.

Based in London, Wilmot-Sitwell and Smith will work closely with Dietrich Becker, head of European Advisory, and the firm’s European industry group heads to grow the firm’s presence in the UK.

Wilmot-Sitwell most recently served as president of Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) at Bank of America Merrill Lynch with responsibility for the execution and development of the bank’s strategy and business activities in that region. Prior to that, he held numerous leadership positions at UBS.

A 20-year industry veteran, Smith joined PWP from Barclays Capital where he was head of UK Corporate Finance & Advisory. Prior to joining Barclays Capital, Smith was co-head of EMEA TMT at Citi.

Hatchard is a retired partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. While there, he advised on some of the largest and most complex cross-border transactions in the UK.

Peter Weinberg, founding partner and co-head of Advisory at PWP, said, “We are excited to welcome Alex and Matthew to the firm. They both share the intensity, drive and connectivity to corporate clients that is a trademark of PWP. Adding these seasoned UK dealmakers – along with Michael, one of the most respected, experienced M&A lawyers in Europe – demonstrates our strong commitment to building our European M&A business.”
