Wells Fargo Middle Market Banking has promoted 20-year banking veteran Robert Valcq to lead its Southeastern Wisconsin team as regional vice president, effective immediately.

Valcq reports to North Central Division Manager Gina Peter and oversees eight experienced commercial lending professionals who deliver Wells Fargo’s localized approach to serving privately held, middle-market companies with revenues of $20 million and above.

Middle-market companies drive the economy in the Central U.S. and nationally, reporting average revenue growth of 6.9% in the fourth quarter and a strong year of overall growth in 2016 according to the National Center for the Middle Market.

“We’re pleased to elevate a high-caliber Wells Fargo leader who will continue to guide our local Middle Market Banking team with integrity, diligence, and commitment to helping companies succeed and grow,” Peter said, pointing out that Wells Fargo continues to add new bankers and support staff in the North Central Region to meet customer demand. “With two decades of experience, Rob is well-versed in the financial needs of our Southeastern Wisconsin customers.”

Valcq has spent a majority of his career directly serving middle market and business banking customers. He previously joined Wells Fargo in 2005, serving through 2008 as a senior business relationship manager. Valcq returned to Wells Fargo in 2009 as vice president and relationship manager. The company promoted him to senior vice president and loan team manager in 2015. His career also includes corporate banking positions at Harris Bank and business banking roles at Associated Bank in Wisconsin.
