The Turnaround Management Association has honored Peter Tourtellot, managing director at Anderson Bauman Tourtellot Vos, with its Outstanding Individual Contribution Award for 2011 at the TMA’s Spring Conference in Atlanta.

Announcing the award yesterday, the association noted, “Tourtellot helped define the eligibility process for TMA’s Certification Turnaround Professional (CTP) designation, underlining the importance of education from his earliest days as a TMA Carolinas chapter founder to ascendant leadership roles in TMA Global.

“As TMA president and chairman, he oversaw TMA’s international expansion, CTP marketing activities and communications. Later, he conceived and led a $1.5 million campaign establishing a board-designated endowment,” the TMA said.

Accepting the award, Tourtellot expressed his commitment to the turnaround profession and the high standards set by the association. “We must show through our actions that honesty, integrity, and character still count for something in today’s corporate world,” he urged, “and that taking responsibility for the livelihoods of employees is a solemn trust.”

He reiterated his commitment to certification for turnaround professionals, pointing out that they ask their clients “to put their faith and, to a large extent, their futures in our hands.”

“The very least we owe them in return is our commitment that everything we do on their behalf is prudent, ethical, and beyond reproach.”

Anderson Bauman Tourtellot Vos provides turnaround consulting, interim executive management, planning, fraud investigation and bankruptcy and liquidation services.
