Turnaround executive Thomas J. Allison joined Portage Point Partners as a senior advisor.

“Tom is truly a legend in the turnaround and restructuring industry,” said Matthew Ray, managing partner of Portage Point Partners. “I am both humbled and thrilled to have him join our growing team. His world-class experience and capabilities as well as his extensive business network will be significant assets to Portage Point and our clients.”

Inducted into the Turnaround Management Association Hall of Fame in 2018, Allison is one of the foremost professionals in the corporate renewal industry and was the 2017 recipient of the TMA Legend Award, as well as the first recipient of the TMA Peter Tourtellot Award. He has been a corporate officer and key advisor in some of the world’s largest and most complex turnarounds and restructurings.

Allison has held a Certified Turnaround Professional designation since 1994. He previously served as executive vice president and senior managing director at Mesirow Financial Consulting. Prior to Mesirow, he co-founded and served as National Restructuring Group Practice leader at Huron Consulting and worked as the partner-in-charge for Arthur Andersen’s Central Region Restructuring Practice. Allison has also served on numerous boards of directors, including boards at The NORDAM Group, Monroe Capital, Katy Industries and PTC Group Holdings.

“Matt and I have worked so well together on many engagements over the years, and it is a natural progression for us to formalize that partnership,” said Allison. “I am excited to be joining Portage Point Partners as the firm continues to execute on substantial growth opportunities.”

Founded in 2016, Portage Point is an interim management and business advisory firm that partners with middle market companies and their stakeholders during periods of distress or transition.
