Attorney Scott Stanton joined Mintz Levin in San Diego as a member of the firm’s Corporate & Securities practice from Morrison & Foerster, where he previously served as partner. Stanton has expertise in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and corporate governance.

Stanton will serve as primary outside counsel to a number of public and private companies and represent boards of directors and board committees in complex corporate governance matters. He has expertise in SEC reporting and corporate governance matters through which he provides advice to companies in industries such as software, medical devices, life sciences, semiconductors, consumer goods, insurance and financial services.

Stanton has worked on more than 100 deals in mergers and acquisitions, including public company mergers, tender offers, hostile takeovers and other strategic acquisitions and divestitures. In the capital markets area, Stanton previously handled public and private offerings of both debt and equity securities, representing issuers and underwriters. He has also represented companies in private placements and venture financings.
