Ankura appointed Alex Sorokin senior managing director. Based in New York, Sorokin brings more than 30 years of advisory experience in business improvement, turnaround and restructuring situations.

Over the course of his career, Sorokin has assisted more than 50 companies, ranging from startups to multibillion-dollar enterprises and across multiple industries, including aerospace, agriculture, energy, defense, automotive and transportation, healthcare, manufacturing, real estate, retail and technology.

Sorokin most recently served as the CEO of energy storage and information technology companies doing business with commercial and governmental customers both in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to that, he spent 26 years at restructuring firm Zolfo Cooper, before co-founding and serving as a partner at Persephone Capital Partners and Halsey Lane Holdings.
