Takata, a global supplier of automotive safety systems, announced that Bruce D. Angiolillo has been named general counsel of North American subsidiary TK Holdings, effective January 1, 2015. Angiolillo joins Takata following a 34-year career at global law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.

As general counsel of TK Holdings, Angiolillo will oversee all North American legal and regulatory matters at the Company and work directly with Takata’s senior management, external legal counsel and the company’s governing bodies. He will play an integral role in Takata’s continued efforts to work cooperatively with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and other regulators to resolve all outstanding issues related to the safety campaigns associated with certain Takata airbag inflators.

While at Simpson Thacher, Angiolillo led the firm’s Securities Litigation Practice. He has represented numerous large corporations and other high profile clients, providing counsel on a wide range of situations, including class actions, derivative actions, contests for corporate control, internal investigations, and complex commercial litigations.

Angiolillo received his his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he is a member of the Board of Visitors.
