Electric power company Duke Energy closed a $1 billion credit agreement with Scotiabank as administrative agent.

According to a related 8-K filing, PNC Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking and TD Bank served as co-syndication agents. Bank of China, BNP Paribas, Santander Bank and U.S. Bank were co-documentation agents.

The proceeds of loans made under the credit agreement will be used by Charlotte, NC-based Duke Energy for general corporate purposes.
