Scherzer International, a provider of specialized background reports, received approval of its self-certification of compliance with the new EU-US Privacy Shield after a review by the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC).

The new framework, jointly designed by the DOC and the European Commission, aims to protect personal data transferred from EU countries to the U.S.

The goal of the framework is to provide companies on both sides of the Atlantic with a mechanism to comply with EU data protection requirements in support of transatlantic commerce. The framework provides robust and enforceable protections for the personal data of European Economic Area individuals.

Scherzer International has been providing specialized background reports to commercial and investment banks, private equity funds and many of the largest law and public accounting firms since 1993.
