Getzler Henrich said Mark Samson has returned to the firm as managing director.

“Mark’s reputation as a seasoned restructuring professional, both inside and outside of bankruptcy is widely respected,” commented co-chairman Bill Henrich. “We have enjoyed a long relationship with Mark, most recently as a special advisor to the firm. His experience as the founder of a specialty retailer that became the largest in its industry enriched his insights as a consultant.”

Samson also served as chairman of the audit committee and lead independent board director for an NYSE public company, the largest vertical clothing manufacturer in the United States, with 280 retail stores in 19 different countries. He has significant composition (out of court), Chapter 11 and 363 experience.

Co-chairman Joel Getzler noted, “Mark has served as interim CEO, CRO, president or financial advisor for more than 80 companies in the United States over the last 15 years, and his experience helping businesses with balance-sheet restructurings, operational and profit improvement programs, liquidations, debt replacements and sell-side transactions is a great fit with Getzler Henrich.” His industry experience includes hospitality, restaurants, food processing and manufacturing, distribution, apparel and textile, printing and retail.

Previously, Samson served on the board of a joint venture between an emerging market government, private enterprise, and the World Bank, and most recently, was operating partner at Praesidian Capital, a private investment firm focused on providing senior and subordinated debt along with growth capital to lower middle-market companies.
