Rothschild Global Advisory hired Sumner Farren and Sara Coyle as managing directors in its Chicago-based Industrials group. In their new roles, they will help build the firm’s growing presence globally in general industrials, distribution, paper and packaging.

“The addition of Sumner and Sara to our Chicago office provides additional experience and depth to the strong team there, which has already been successful since the office opened in 2016,” said Jimmy Neissa, head of Rothschild & Co North America. “We are delighted with the work Eric Hirschfield and his team have done to build our presence and reputation in the Midwest region, and adding two managing directors of this caliber reflects Rothschild’s ongoing commitment to the U.S. market.”

Farren joined Rothschild from UBS, where he was a managing director responsible for the firm’s sell-side M&A activities in North America. Prior to UBS, he spent 20 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Chicago, working primarily on M&A for a wide variety of industries.

Coyle also previously served as a managing director at UBS, where she was responsible for industrial distribution and packaging coverage efforts. Prior to UBS, Coyle spent 10 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Citi, working on M&A, equity and debt financing transactions for a broad variety of paper and packaging, distribution, chemical, building products and aerospace and defense companies.

Coyle and Farren worked together on numerous transactions while at UBS and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, including the recent sales of CharterNex to Leonard Green, Consolidated Container to Loews, Fort Dearborn to Advent and American Tire Distributors to Ares.
