The Northeast Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMANE) has elected James E. Fleet, senior managing director and shareholder of Phoenix Management Services, as president of the Boston-based chapter.

Fleet joined TMA’s Northeast Chapter in 1999 and has served on its board of advisors for nearly ten years as a director and in executive leadership roles including: secretary, treasurer and most recently as vice president/president elect. He has also chaired several committees including: Sponsorship, Education and the TMA/Dick McMahon Charity Golf Committee.

With over 400 active members, TMANE is a significant institution with a rich history of thought leadership within the turnaround industry and one of the largest chapters in the U.S. This chapter has such bright and talented people from all types of firms, companies and backgrounds. I am excited to continue the great works that my predecessors have started,” said Fleet.

Fleet joined Phoenix in 2000 and has led the Boston office since its inception. He brings a wealth of executive management and advisory experience gleaned over more than 25 years in industry. His advisory experience includes more than 100 engagements in which he guided turnarounds and restructurings or served in interim management roles.

Fleet has led investment banking, M&A, transaction due diligence, quality of earnings, operational wind downs, bankruptcy §363 transactions and a variety of refinancing/recapitalization transactions.

Prior to Phoenix, Fleet spent considerable time in the manufacturing, precious metals, advertising, insurance and distribution sectors in roles ranging from EVP of Sales and Marketing to COO and president/CEO.
