Evan Klein joined Opus Bank’s Merchant Banking division and Opus Financial Partners, the bank’s broker-dealer subsidiary, as managing director and head of Media, Entertainment, and Business Services.

Klein will be responsible for building Opus’ principal investing activities in these sectors, as well as advising clients on mergers and acquisitions and private debt and equity financings.

Klein joined from Luminary Partners, where he served as managing partner and sourced, structured and underwrote private equity investments and provided strategic advisory services to media, technology and business services companies. Previously, he served as managing director at Berkery, Noyes and Morgan Joseph, where he originated and marketed sale mandates and equity and debt private placements to strategic buyers and financial investors in the U.S. and Europe.

Earlier in his career, Klein served as a director with SG Cowen Securities and Prudential Securities and as a vice president with Allen & Company.
