Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) bolstered its Executive Compensation and Benefits practice with the addition of George F. O’Donnell who will serve as a managing director in Greenwich, CT. An expert in structuring compensation programs for senior management and outside directors, O’Donnell’s legal and accounting background strengthens A&M’s offering for professional services firms.

O’Donnell brings to A&M more than 30 years of employee benefits consulting experience. His expertise includes funding executive benefit programs, establishing and managing captive employee benefit arrangements, redeploying excess pension assets, funding post-retirement health programs and resolving employee benefits compliance controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor.

For 15 years, O’Donnell was at Aon, where he was a senior vice president in Aon Hewitt, and later was technical director of Aon Global Risk Consulting. He established and led Aon’s captive employee benefits consulting practice, successfully implementing numerous captive programs for employee group health, disability, and life insurance.
