Monroe Credit Advisors announced Jeff Knopping joined the firm as a managing director and partner to open its New York office. Monroe Credit Advisors is affiliated with Monroe Capital, a middle-market lender.

Knopping has raised over $50 billion in more than 200 transactions and has acted as an advisor to creditors and debtors in major restructurings and bankruptcies. Prior to Monroe, he was most recently a managing director in William Blair & Company’s Private Capital and Special Situations groups. He also spent 13 years at GE Capital where he co-founded the debt capital markets business and ultimately led all capital markets activities for GE Commercial Finance and served as the chief investment officer of the Global Sponsor Finance practice. Prior to that, he spent six years in Citigroup’s Loan Syndication Business.
