Mesirow Financial Consulting announced that The M&A Advisor has awarded it Turnaround Consulting Firm of the Year for the second year in a row. The M&A Advisor also named Larry Lattig, president of Mesirow Financial, Turnaround Consultant of the Year.

The awards will be presented at the Awards Gala in conjunction with the Distressed Investing Summit on March 11, 2014, at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, FL.

“It is gratifying that the M&A Advisor has recognized the work of Mesirow Financial Consulting by naming us Turnaround Consulting Firm of the Year,” said Ralph Tuliano, CEO of Mesirow Financial Consulting. “2013 was an important year for our practice as we completed several high-profile engagements in an otherwise soft restructuring market. We completed our work as financial advisors to the examiner in the Residential Capital proceedings, and also completed our work as advisors to the committee of unsecured creditors in American Airlines. We also continued to work on several municipal restructurings and many other engagements.”

“The award winners represent the best of the distressed investing and reorganization industry in 2013 and Mesirow Financial Consulting and Larry Lattig, respectively, earned these honors by standing out in a group of very impressive candidates,” said David Fergusson, president of The M&A Advisor. “From lower middle market to multibillion dollar deals, we have recognized the leading transactions, firms and individuals that represent the highest levels of performance.”

“We are pleased that the M&A Advisor has recognized Larry’s work and accomplishments by naming him Turnaround Consultant of the Year,” said Ralph Tuliano, CEO of Mesirow Financial Consulting.

Lattig has more than 30 years of experience advising creditors’ committees in bankruptcies, lenders in workout situations, companies and creditors in liquidations, buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisition transactions and parties in financing and financial transactions. Lattig most recently assisted in advancing the interests of creditors of American Airlines during negotiations that led to the merger of AMR and U.S. Airways. He also led the Mesirow Financial Consulting team which played a significant role in structuring settlements with creditors for Patriot Coal.
