Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP announced that Dayan R. Rosen has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a partner in the Leveraged Finance Practice. Rosen comes to Manatt from Latham & Watkins in Los Angeles.

Rosen has a broad finance practice, with extensive experience representing major financial institutions in leveraged finance and banking transactions, including acquisition financings, international financings, dividend recapitalizations, refinancings, asset-based lending and amend-to-extend transactions. He has worked extensively with Barclays, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, UBS and Wells Fargo. Rosen also represents private equity firms in connection with financing for leveraged acquisitions and companies in connection with their ongoing financing needs.

“Dayan is an outstanding addition to Manatt’s considerable finance practice,” said Harold P. Reichwald, co-chair of Manatt’s national Financial Services & Banking Practice. “We represent a wide range of financial institutions, and Dayan, with his deep skill set and sophisticated industry knowledge, will help us respond to the growing demand from our financial services clients.”

Prior to his time at Latham & Watkins, Rosen worked at UBS Investment Bank in Tokyo, first in the investment banking department executing UBS’ debt and equity mandates there, and then as a director in the Transactions Legal Department. He has also practiced in New York, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Gordon Bava, chair of the firm’s Business, Finance & Tax Division, said, “Dayan is a terrific addition. His leveraged finance and banking practice is complementary to Manatt’s well-established financial services platform and his impressive international experience makes him a valuable asset to our global clients. We are pleased to welcome him to our team.”

“Manatt has an extraordinary reputation for innovative work and excellent client service,” said Rosen. “I’m excited to practice with such a talented and highly regarded group of lawyers and to help further grow their Leveraged Finance Practice.”
