Lion Capital Said to Approach American Apparel on Sale

Reuters reported, according to a source familiar with the situation, that the board of American Apparel received a letter from British buyout firm Lion Capital, pushing it to explore strategic options including a sale.

Reuters noted that the letter also said that Lion Capital, a former lender to the retailer, would nominate Lyndon Lea, one of its founders, to the clothing retailer’s board of directors.
