Miller Buckfire & Co., LLC announced the appointment of Ron Kubick as a managing director, effective immediately. Kubick is an experienced restructuring capital markets professional whose expertise is complementary to Miller Buckfire’s strategic focus on providing companies with access to a range of financing options. Kubick’s addition is another important step in Miller Buckfire’s strategy, anchored by its partnership with Stifel Financial, to provide a complete suite of services and the best execution to its clients in the financial restructuring market.

Kubick joined Miller Buckfire after most recently serving as a managing director at Morgan Stanley, where he led the firm’s Restructuring Finance and ABL Capital Markets Groups. He has extensive experience in structuring and arranging restructuring related capital markets transactions including accessing alternative sources of capital. He has successfully provided committed capital in excess of $12.8 billion to support reorganizations such as Visteon ($700 million), Dana Corp. ($2 billion), Delta Airlines ($2.5 billion), Remy International ($330 million) and Foamex ($790 million). In addition, Kubick has provided traditional and pre-packaged DIP financings for companies such as Laidlaw ($200 million), Dura Automotive ($300 million), Remy International ($225 million), Amtrol ($115 million), and Allied Holdings ($230 million).

Prior to Morgan Stanley, Kubick was head of Strategic Finance at Barclays Capital and group head of Restructuring Finance at Tygris Commercial Finance, a sponsor-backed middle-market specialty finance company. Previously, he spent nine years as a founding member of GE Capital’s Restructuring Finance Group where he held senior positions in areas of origination, credit and underwriting, and audit. He began his professional career working in accounting and finance positions, including corporate audit, with such industrial companies as Ingersoll-Rand, American Home Products, and Cytec Industries.

“Ron, with his proven expertise in restructuring finance, is a great addition to our firm,” said Miller Buckfire CEO and managing director Kenneth A. Buckfire. “Access to capital, particularly in the current low-growth environment, is critical to companies facing structural challenges with their balance sheets, and Ron deepens our ability to meet this growing market demand.”
