Anderson Bauman Tourtellot Vos (ABTV) announced Thomas M. Kirkpatrick, a Principal at the Greensboro, NC-based turnaround management firm, will assume the role of managing director, effective April 15. Kirkpatrick is taking over this position from Peter Tourtellot, one of ABTV’s founders, who is stepping down to take on other responsibilities within the firm.

In this new role, Kirkpatrick will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm, including its business development, personnel management and financial operations, as the firm continues to grow throughout its major Mid-Atlantic and Southeast markets.

Kirkpatrick joined ABTV in September 2010, having served as CEO, COO, CRO and CFO in a wide variety of companies across the country for more than 25 years. He also held the positions of CEO/founder of an international manufacturing company and senior manager in the private business advisory services, manufacturing consulting and financial audit practices of KPMG Peat Marwick for public and privately held companies.

He is well-known within the turnaround management field for his extensive experience and expertise in managing complex turnarounds, restructurings and reorganizations, financial and strategic advisory services, business development, operational improvements and results, marketing and sales growth, mergers and acquisitions and formation of strategic acquisitions between privately held companies and private equity firms.

“Tom has proven consistently over the past five years his leadership, problem-solving skills and keen ability to quickly assess situations and zero in on targeted plans of action that result in the best possible outcomes for our clients,” says Tourtellot. “There is no doubt in my mind that Tom will help ABTV achieve even greater success in his new role as our managing director.”

Kirkpatrick, who has earned the Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) designation by the Turnaround Management Association, received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University and his Master of Accountancy from Bowling Green State University.
