Huntington Bank named Chad Prather president of its West Virginia region. Prather will continue to serve as the lead commercial banking executive and succeed Andy Paterno, who will retire at the end of 2017, ending a 0-year career.

“Chad is a strong leader with the passion and ability to shape Huntington’s ability to continue to serve our customers well into the future,” Paterno said. “He’s played an instrumental role in working with me and our entire leadership team to drive our success in West Virginia.”

“I am excited and grateful for this opportunity to lead a tremendous group of colleagues in a state I’m proud to call home,” Prather said. “Andy has served as a great leader, friend and mentor over his tenure these past five years. We wish Andy well in his retirement and will employ his same spirit with an emphasis on making an even greater difference in helping families and business owners across the state of West Virginia thrive in the years ahead.”

Prather, who joined Huntington in 2005, is a veteran financial services professional with 18 years of experience in business and commercial banking. As president of Huntington’s West Virginia region, he will lead 250 colleagues in providing full-service banking, investment management and insurance services to consumers and businesses. Prather will continue to operate out of Morgantown, WV and Huntington’s regional headquarters in Charleston, WV.
