The third annual National Middle Market Summit: Leading from the Middle, co-hosted by GE Capital, the National Center for the Middle Market and The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business will be held October 29-30 in Columbus, OH. The event will bring together 1,000 CEOs, academics, policymakers and industry experts discussing key business opportunities, challenges and solutions that will help middle market companies grow.

The Summit will focus on game changers and breakthrough organizations.
Tuesday, October 29 evening will kick off with a fireside chat hosted by GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt interviewing President George W. Bush.
On Wednesday, October 30 a lineup of leaders from business, sports, government and academia, whose different way of thinking led to fundamental, positive changes in their markets, will share their insights. Speakers will include:

  • Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank on how he changed the game in the sporting goods market and experienced phenomenal breakthrough growth,
  • Oakland A’s General Manager Billy Beane, the subject of Moneyball, on how he changed the game of baseball by using big data and analysis and
  • Washington Post Chairman and CEO Don Graham on selling a family business and growing a diversified portfolio of companies,
  • Professor and Author Jonah Berger on how certain ideas gain traction, catch on and change trends.
  • The National Center for the Middle Market will also unveil new breakthrough research exploring triggering events and strategies that propel exceptional growth.
