Law firm Gardere Wynne Sewell added W. Brian Memory as a partner in the firm’s banking and finance practice group.

Prior to joining Gardere’s banking and finance practice, Memory served as assistant general counsel and senior vice president at PlainsCapital Bank. During his tenure, he managed and conducted the organization’s legal affairs, advised C-level executives on corporate regulatory matters and managed the bank’s real estate portfolio. Memory was part of the team that helped manage the merger of PlainsCapital Corporation and Hilltop Holdings.

“Brian’s experience as in-house counsel with a major Texas bank will bring excellent insight for our clients,” said Steven S. Camp, head of Gardere’s banking and finance practice. “Our practice group is known for the ability to work with bankers to accomplish their needs. We are pleased to welcome him to the team.”

Gardere’s banking and finance practice group assists public and private entities looking for business guidance with secured and unsecured financings, involving real estate, mineral interests, inventory, accounts receivable, factoring, intangible properties and other asset types.
