G.C. Andersen Partners announced the opening of a new office in Santa Monica and has hired new partners both in the new office as well as in its New York Office. Joe Bencivenga is located in New York and Kevin Schultz and Jay Sherwood will staff the Santa Monica office.

Previously, Bencivenga was co-founder of Plainfield, a Connecticut-based hedge fund, and also worked at Solomon Brothers and Drexel Burnham Lambert.

Prior to joining the firm, Shultz was co-director of investment banking at FTI Consulting. Sherwood was previously a managing director and senior advisor with McGladrey Capital Markets.
