FLOCK Specialty Finance announced John Wheeler, former managing director at Renova Partners, an investment bank focused on financial services, has joined FLOCK as CFO. Wheeler is responsible for accounting, finance and treasury functions, and underwriting and customer solution development.

Wheeler has more than 17 years of experience in finance and investment banking, including a focus on M&A and capital raise transactions for companies in the specialty finance and financial services industries. In 2008, he co-founded Servius Capital. “Michael has assembled a diverse team of experienced professionals that takes a novel approach to their markets. I look forward to helping the company creatively deploy its capital in new markets.”

Prior to Renova Partners, Wheeler served as CFO for several subsidiaries of CompuCredit, including a “Buy-Here, Pay-Here” auto finance operation and other businesses focused on providing a variety of sub-prime lending products to consumers. John previously worked in investment banking positions at the Atlanta offices of Stephens and JPMorgan. He began his career in the New York and London offices of Salomon Brothers.

“FLOCK is a specialty finance company that provides expertise and capital solutions to businesses that have been underserved by traditional banks and financial services companies. John’s financial expertise as well as his broad experience in the specialty finance industry will be a tremendous value to our clients,” said Michael Flock, chairman and CEO. “As our company moves into new market segments like retail finance and subprime auto finance, John’s past experiences and insights will help our company create financial solutions to enable our clients to grow their businesses in complex and risky markets.”
