Lars B. Eller has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Farmers & Merchants Bank. F&M formed a search committee in May of this year to retain a successor to Paul Siebenmorgen, the current president and CEO, as he approaches retirement.

Previously, Eller served as EVP and chief retail banking officer for Royal Bank, which was acquired by Bryn Mawr Trust in 2017. Before joining Royal, he was head of Wealth management and then senior vice president of retail banking at TD Bank. Eller began his career in TD’s management trainee program before moving on to National City Bank, where he held progressively larger leadership roles before returning to TD. Most recently he worked as a consultant for Cambridge Savings Bank.

“We are very pleased to have found in Lars a personable and talented banker who has experience at both large national and regional banks as well as community banks like F&M. We look forward to welcoming him as a part of the F&M family,” said Kevin Sauder, chairman of the search committee.

Siebenmorgen will remain president and CEO of F&M until his retirement, which is anticipated in early 2019.
