Deloitte Corporate Finance announced it named Thomas W. Sloop as managing director in its Houston office.

In connection with his new role, Sloop will lead the development of the DCF oil and gas investment banking practice. He will be responsible for the origination of financial advisory services for oil and gas clients in the U.S and will assist member firms serving clients globally providing C-Suite, board and operational level strategic advisory, commercial development, transaction leadership, and deal facilitation support across the sector.

Prior to DCF, Sloop led the midstream M&A advisory practice for Pace Global Energy, a Siemens business. Before that, he ran his own advisory and principal investment firm focused on international energy development. He began his investment banking career with Morgan Stanley & Company and later held senior investment banking positions with Barclays Capital and UBS Securities.

Sloop is a seasoned development professional, consultant and investment banker with 25 years of experience in the business. He has extensive international experience and completed in the course of his career over $40 billion in energy and energy-related financings representing clients in project finance, capital markets transactions, IPOs, strategic advisory and cross-border M&A.
