Reuters reported Corinthian Colleges filed for Chapter 11 protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, DE, closing the book on the embattled for-profit school operator whose business had been embroiled in controversy since last summer.

According to Reuters , the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal by Lehman Brothers in its long-running fight over assets that went to Barclays PLC when the British bank bought Lehman’s brokerage in 2008, DBR reports via WSJ.
