CIT Group announced the appointment of Bryan Allen as executive vice president and global head of human resources effective July 9, 2012. He will report directly to Andrew T. Brandman, executive vice president and chief administrative officer.

“Bryan’s past experience will serve CIT well as we work to further align our Human Resources function with our strategic business growth initiatives,” said John Thain, chairman and chief executive officer of CIT. “Our employees are the backbone of CIT and our ability to attract, retain and develop talent are paramount to our success. Bryan’s management and leadership skills will be important as we develop and implement best-in-class employee programs.”

Allen will be responsible for overseeing the human resources function, including the development and implementation of the company’s global employee programs, policies and benefits initiatives.

Prior to CIT, Allen served as chief human resources officer for Hanover Insurance Group. Before Hanover, he was managing director and head of human resources at U.S. Trust. Prior to joining U.S. Trust, he held a number of business management positions at Morgan Stanley.
