GE Antares Capital, a unit of GE Capital, appointed Chip Cushman as a managing director in GE Antares’ New York City office. Cushman will deliver the broad range of GE Antares capabilities to private equity-backed middle market companies.

“Chip brings many years of experience in sponsor finance and expertise in both the public and private credit markets,” noted David Brackett, senior managing director of GE Antares Capital. “We are thrilled to have someone with his reputation and experience joining our sponsor coverage team.”

Cushman said, “I’m excited to join GE Antares and have the opportunity to deliver its full suite of products, including traditional cash-flow and asset-based loans, equity co-investments, as well as the unique Senior Secured Loan Program, to private equity clients.”

Cushman joins GE Antares after spending more than six years as a managing director at Oaktree Capital Management where his responsibilities included investing and managing mezzanine debt, equity and senior loan investments. Prior to his tenure at Oaktree, Chip spent more than 12 years at Deutsche Bank Securities (and its predecessor, Bankers Trust) in the Financial Sponsors Group. Chip began his career at Kenneth Leventhal & Co. as a management consultant.
