Ankura appointed Kevin Cheung senior managing director and the firm’s first chief information officer. Cheung will join the company’s leadership team at the company’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. and will report to Ankura CEO Roger Carlile.

Carlile said, “Naming our first CIO is an important event for Ankura, one that every client and Ankura colleague will experience the positive effects of as we continue to grow. Kevin is the right person for this critical 21st century leadership role, as timely and innovative technology is a critical component for great client service in today’s business landscape.”

Cheung joined Ankura with more than 15 years of experience in management consulting and IT, advising clients across both public and private sectors on IT strategy, cost optimization, organization design and maximizing IT performance.

He previously worked as a principal at the Censeo Consulting Group, leading the firm’s strategic IT practice for federal government clients, as well as serving as the company’s CIO. Prior to that, he spent many years leading IT strategy projects for financial services, retail and consumer packaged goods clients as a principal at A.T. Kearney.

“I am honored to be leading Ankura’s IT efforts as the firm’s first CIO,” Cheung said. “I look forward to building upon the good work done so far and growing our IT capabilities in tandem with the firm’s overall growth to serve Ankura’s clients and team members effectively and efficiently.”
