Chase announced that it has promoted veteran banker Mark Bensabat to lead its middle-market banking business in the Southeast — one of the bank’s fastest growing segments in the nation.

In this new role, Bensabat will oversee local Chase middle-market banking teams that serve Southeast businesses with $20 million to $500 million in annual sales. He will continue to be based in Orlando.

“Mark is a proven leader who has successfully built an accomplished team in Florida in a short period of time,” said Steve Walker, head of Chase Middle Market Banking. “His vision, leadership and client focus will help contribute to the region’s continued growth.”

Four years ago, Bensabat relocated with his family from Baton Rouge, La. to help expand Chase’s middle-market business in Florida and build local teams in Miami, Orlando and Tampa. He has been with Chase and its predecessors for 32 years and has held a number of management positions in Commercial Banking, including credit, treasury services, international banking and also led the bank acquisition team for one of the firm’s predecessors.
