Bruce A. Bedwell joined Chapman and Cutler as a partner in the Corporate Finance Department in Chicago, where he focuses his practice on advising clients on issues related to the financing and acquisition of energy related projects.

Bedwell previously practiced law with Paul Hastings, where he was a member of the Energy, Project Development & Finance, and Corporate practices. At Paul Hastings he represented lenders, developers, manufacturers and owners in the financing, development, acquisition and distribution of energy projects.

Bedwell advised clients with respect to an array of legal matters related to energy projects, including government approvals and permits, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and state utility commission authorizations, real property rights, environmental regulation, rules and regulations of utilities, independent system operators and regional transmission organizations, interconnection matters, tax exemptions and benefits, warranty claims, dispute resolution and litigation. Bedwell has also advised clients regarding public-private partnership transactions in the transportation, marine port, airport and lottery industries.
