Global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group retained Craig J. Farr as a senior advisor consultant with the Global Credit group. Farr previously served as global head of Capital Markets and Credit at KKR.

As a senior advisor, Farr will help Carlyle develop new strategic initiatives and partnerships across Carlyle’s credit platform, which includes loans and structured credit, private credit, energy credit and distressed credit.

Farr served as the head of KKR Credit Advisors (U.S.) from 2013 to 2015 and served as a member of KKR Asset Management. He joined KKR in 2006 and oversaw its capital markets and origination business, and drove the build-out of its structuring, capital markets advisory, distribution and credit origination resources. He served as the CEO and president of KKR Financial Holdings from 2013 to 2014.

He was previously with Citigroup, including 12 years at Citigroup Global Markets Holdings as managing director, co-head of North American Equity Capital Markets, and head of U.S. Convertible and Corporate Equity Derivative Origination.
