Carl Marks Advisory Group said it has named Joseph R. D’Angelo managing director. In this position, D’Angelo will work with middle market clients as an interim officer, chief restructuring officer or advisor to develop and implement business plans that restore top-line growth and increase enterprise value. He will also represent secured creditors in bankruptcy restructuring cases.

D’Angelo comes to Carl Marks with more than 20 years of experience in operating and advisory roles, improving underperforming businesses and advising debtors and creditors in complex restructuring matters. Before joining Carl Marks, D’Angelo was a principal at XRoads Solutions Group. He also served as senior vice president at Platinum Equity and as managing director at Alvarez & Marsal.

Additionally, he was chief financial officer at Rhythms NetConnections and held management positions with Sprint in Kansas City. His experience spans many industries, including automotive, manufacturing, entertainment, digital media, software, specialty finance and telecommunications.
