Jim Daly was named president of BB&T’s West Florida region. Daly, who previously served as a Community Banking group executive in Winston-Salem, NC, assumed his new role effective March 26, 2017. He replaces Ken Coppedge, who retired on March 17, 2017.

Jim’s commitment to our clients and communities will be vital to our continued success in this important region.”

Daly has more than 30 years of banking experience. During his 28-year tenure with BB&T, he has served in various leadership positions including commercial banker, corporate banker and city executive in Greensboro, NC, and an area executive in Durham, NC. He was named Hampton Roads regional president in 2002, Peninsula regional president in 2003 following the acquisition of First Virginia Banks and North Florida regional president in 2004. He was named Community Banking group executive in 2010.

Coppedge has 40 years of banking experience, including 19 years with Wachovia Bank. He joined BB&T in 2004 with the acquisition of Republic Bancshares of St. Petersburg, FL. While at Republic Bank, he served as chief operating officer. Coppedge was named BB&T regional president in 2004.
