William Callaghan, a 38-year banking veteran, joined Virginia Commonwealth Bank as executive vice president, chief administrative officer. Callaghan will report to President and CEO Randal R. Greene.

Callaghan has more than 35 years of progressive management experience within the financial services industry. He has been responsible for managing and overseeing more than 15 core system conversions successfully. He most recently served as senior vice president, chief information officer of Xenith Bank in Richmond, VA. He was one of the original members of its executive team to assist in the start-up of the bank.

“Bill is an exceptional executive who brings extensive strategic and operational leadership experience to our bank,” Greene said. “Bill has a successful track record with core conversions and with strategic and tactical leadership in executing and managing major corporate initiatives, while ensuring effective compliance management.”
