Bank of the West appointed Mary Borg to the position of executive vice president, head of Retail Branch Network & Strategy, a role in which she will be responsible for leading the bank’s network of more than 500 branches as well as the group’s National Sales Strategy team.

Borg has more than 25 years of financial services experience and has been with Bank of the West for the past 18 years. She will be based out of the bank’s Los Angeles office and will report to Ryan Bailey, executive vice president, head of the Retail Banking Group.

“Mary’s deep knowledge and expertise in the banking industry along with her unsurpassed commitment to our customers, communities, and team members makes her the perfect fit to oversee our retail branch network,” Bailey said.

Borg will be focused on enriching the customer experience, helping Bank of the West stay on the cutting edge of products, services and in-branch experiences. Prior to this role, she served as the bank’s executive vice president, Southern California division executive.

Before joining Bank of The West, Borg spent time in a variety of roles at Sanwa Bank, California Federal Bank, Amplicon Financial, Federal Credit Union, Great Western Bank, Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch.
