Banc of California promoted Jason Pendergist to executive vice president and head of Commercial Banking.

In his new role, Pendergist will continue to oversee the bank’s Real Estate Banking groups and add leadership responsibilities for the Commercial Banking, Business Banking, Asset-Based Lending and SBA Lending groups.

Pendergist joined the bank in September 2017 as executive vice president and head of Real Estate Banking. Prior to that, Pendergist served as president for Consumer and Commercial Banking for Luther Burbank Savings. He also served as managing director and regional head of Commercial Term Lending for JPMorgan Chase and held roles at Washington Mutual Bank.

“We are proud to announce Jason’s expanded role and broadened responsibilities,” said Doug Bowers, president and CEO. “Since Jason’s addition to the team last fall, he has shown superb leadership abilities, and has worked tirelessly to align the bank’s approach to delivering comprehensive banking solutions to clients. By integrating our Commercial Banking and Real Estate Banking groups, we expect to be able to better deliver our full suite of products, services, and capabilities to our broad base of clients across the bank.”
