Aurora Management Partners added Wayne Tanner as senior managing director in Atlanta and Scott Dwyer as associate director in Cleveland.

The firm’s continued growth has led to more key promotions and staff additions. In Atlanta, Steve Smerjac was promoted to associate director and Gregory Baker joined the firm as a consultant. In Charlotte, NC, Jason Mihelic joined as a senior consultant.

Smerjac has been with Aurora since 2006 and brings more than 20 years of experience in business operations, financial analysis, portfolio management and due diligence. Smerjac’s specialty is working with turnaround management situations that require detailed analysis and the implementation of fiscal, operational and risk management strategies.

Prior to joining Aurora, Mihelic was an assistant vice president with Chicago-based Monroe Capital. His responsibilities at Monroe included underwriting, executing transactions, portfolio management and working on several of the firm’s distressed credits. He led the finance team and served in the capacity of interim CFO for a restructuring engagement of a portfolio company, handling cash management activities, forecasting, budgeting and negotiations with key suppliers to insure operational liquidity.

Before joining Aurora, Baker was an audit senior with Deloitte & Touche’s Atlanta client service team with an emphasis in real estate, financial services and manufacturing industries.

David Baker, managing partner of Aurora, said, “The quality and experience of our staff has always been one of our greatest strengths and is critical to our growth. We are very excited to have these individuals part of the Aurora team and look forward to the positive impact they will have on our clients’ businesses.”
