Amherst Partners expanded its Restructuring Advisory practice with the hire of James Morden as managing director.

With more than 15 years of interim management, financial advisory and restructuring experience, Morden specializes in guiding companies in operational and financial distress. He has advised on complex engagements for companies, secured lenders, unsecured creditors and public sector entities.

Morden has worked with companies with revenues ranging from the low millions to $4.5 billion and has enhanced value for all parties by improving operational performance, designing restructuring strategies, identifying cost savings, developing and evaluating business plans, executing distressed sales and managing liquidity in times of crisis. Prior to joining Amherst Partners, he was a director in the Corporate Restructuring group at Alvarez & Marsal in New York City.

“James was an incredibly strategic hire for us,” said partner and Restructuring Group leader Sheldon Stone. “His overall acumen is without peer and his broad industry experience is a great fit for our growth plan. It will allow us to build on the strength we already have in so many key areas and to continue to deliver the outstanding results our clients have come to expect.”
