A&M Adds Burgess and Browning to Performance Improvement Practice

Alvarez & Marsal added Scott Burgess and Keith Browning as managing directors to its corporate performance improvement practice in the Washington, D.C. and Atlanta offices, respectively.

For the past 30 years, Burgess specialized in strategic repositioning (including acquisitions, divestitures and alliances), new operating models, organizational realignment and PMI, large scale operational efficiency initiatives and transformative technology investments. He developed experience evaluating financial technology opportunities and turnaround situations in the payments, mortgage, retail distribution and consumer finance sectors.

Prior to A&M, Burgess led Acument Partners, which advised financial institutions and service providers on a range of strategic repositioning initiatives. He also served as the national leader of banking and finance for Deloitte Consulting and co-led the North American Financial Services practice for Booz.

A 25-year industry veteran, Browning worked on projects examining the cause of business disruption, outlining and implementing strategic initiatives to help businesses change their models. He specializes in telecommunications but has worked with leaders across a broad range of industries.

Previously, Browning served as a vice president with Hitachi Consulting, where he focused on technology enablement, revenue enhancement and system integration. He also spent more than a decade as an operator with AT&T, and prior to that, was a senior director with Arthur Andersen.

“A&M’s restructuring legacy and reputation for enterprise-wide transformation enables us to attract top practitioners like Scott and Keith, whose careers are rooted in helping clients tackle the most complex issues and truly change their businesses to leave them poised for success,” said Joe Berardino, a managing director of the east region corporate performance improvement practice and corporate transformation services.
