AlixPartners appointed Rick Peters as managing director in the Turnaround and Restructuring practice.

He will be based in the firm’s newly opened Houston office and will further enhance the firm’s global power and gas restructuring practice.

Peters has more than 30 years of senior consulting experience, focused on the energy, power and utilities sectors, specifically merchant power and pipelines.

Peters joins from his own firm, Peters Consulting Associates. Previously, he was a managing director at Accenture, where he led their North American utilities management consulting practice, and before that was a senior partner at The Boston Consulting Group, where he led their global energy practice.

Simon Freakley, chief executive officer at AlixPartners, said: “Rick’s appointment further strengthens our commitment to the important Houston market and to serve power and gas companies globally, not only with turnaround and restructuring services but also on broader enterprise improvement programs. His deep expertise of advising energy and utility companies facing critical issues will be invaluable to our clients facing high-impact situations.”
